A Farewell Full of Heart: Honoring Nina’s Next Chapter
Volunteers in Medicine recently hosted a fun, festive, and joy-filled send-off for someone who has truly been the heart of our clinic—Nina Smith. After over 18 years of dedicated service to the working uninsured in our community, Nina is officially retiring, and we couldn’t let her go without one unforgettable celebration!
The event was everything Nina is—warm, genuine, full of heart, and just the right amount of hilarious. There were tears, belly laughs, and yes, one final roast of Nurse Nina (because what kind of retirement party would it be without that?).
From the clinical team turning into Nina clones for the ultimate tribute, to heartfelt memories shared by our founder, including her very first introduction to Nina—it was a gathering full of love, stories, and pure joy.
We laughed, we cried, and we celebrated the incredible impact Nina has made on countless lives. She has been a steady, compassionate presence at VIM, and her legacy will live on through every life she’s touched.
Nina, congratulations on your retirement! You’ve earned every bit of this next chapter, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your years of unwavering service to our community. 💙
You will always be part of the VIM family.
